It took the medical genre on a higher level! This show is most probably the greatest medical KDrama I have ever watched! Every aspect of the series was done in the utmost perfection manner. It started with a bang. Right off the bat, it was already gratifyingly breathtaking. It captured my whole attention and made me keep tight on this one of a hell ride journey with Romantic Doctor. What I love about this show is it offered a lot of innovative, clever và astonishing elements khổng lồ this kind of drama series. Its fresh take on medical genre is beyond words! It was spectacular!
This is one of the few 20 episode (+ 1 special) KDrama I’ve watched that never tires the hell out of me. The momentum was very steady from the beginning up to the last minute. It was flowing with all the shades of emotions you could ever imagine! It was smooth and it will grab you. In all honesty, I want it to be extended. I am glad that there is a Season 2 và I can’t hide my excitement khổng lồ watch it. I am pretty sure that it was also as astounding as this season.
The major suit of this show is the outstanding portrayal of all the cast. The characters are perfectly made for them. Every each of them gave stellar và noteworthy portrayals. From the main character, to the supporting cast… wooow They gave the audience a pitch perfect entertainment. Han Suk Kyu as Boo Yong Joo / Dr. KimThis actor made this series a one of a gem show. I couldn’t think of any actor who can portray the titular role this perfectly. The angst, fierceness, and selfless characteristic of Kim Sa Bu was excellently executed by him. The way he delivers his lines especially on the intense & emotional scenes were sending shiver và chills down to lớn my spine. Without him, as Kim Sa Bu, I think this show would not be this striking. His performance will never be forgotten. Hands down!
Yoo Yeon Seok as Kang Dong JooAnother oppa is added to the list! Yoo Yeon Seok is giving me the major uwu feels! It’s my first time lớn see him on a KDrama & the moment his face flashed on my laptop… wooooow He is so fucking gorgeous! Just seeing his angelic yet mischievous face makes my heart flutter. BUT he is more than just a handsome face. He is a great và promising actor. He is extremely versatile. From the light và funny scenes khổng lồ his highly emotional confrontation moments, he never failed to amaze me with his acting prowess. He is so freaking incredible! I know that he has a lot more to lớn offer under his belt. Give this actor more dramas! He has a huge potential! I am sure, one of these days, he will become one of the mainstream oppas out there. Hwaiting!
Everything about this show is unconventional. When it comes to lớn the medical genre, most of the time, I am not expecting anything from it. Because the theme of the majority of the dramas I’ve watched with this genre is ‘revenge.’ Although there is still element like that in this show, what I loved about it is it did not solely focus on that lens. The series emphasizes the trauma of the characters. It showed their individual wounds & their journey to healing… and that is one of the most beautiful thing I have ever encountered throughout my KDrama journey. Kudos!
One more thing, most of the medical cases they presented & used in Romantic Doctor are definitely eccentric và peculiar. I am not familiar with the medical terms and jargons but it still left me in awe. I forgot I was watching a KDrama, I got totally immersed with it. Their acting was so compelling và effective to lớn the point it made me believe they are working in the hospital.
The show is oozing with a perfect combination of gripping và intense atmosphere. It has what it takes lớn make the viewers glued lớn it throughout its run! It did not run out of intriguing & unstoppable chain of events & it only became more and more interesting as the story progresses. It was a one hell of a ride! It was overflowing with all kinds of emotions – ridiculously fantastic!
What I totally love about Romantic Doctor is it eloquently portrayed the valuable moral lessons. It taught me that pain & hardships is part of becoming a better version of you. That failure is not the opposite of success, instead it is part of it. It’s about taking the right path over the ‘shortcut.’ & we thank the master, Kim Sa Bu, for teaching us all of this beautiful lessons.
You can’t find the right answer every single time. But Master Kim always said this… “Do not give up asking the questions about why we live & what we live for. The moment you give up on that, the romance in life ends.”
Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim Season 1 is a thought-provoking, rip roaring, invigorating, và brilliantly made work of art! From the spellbinding plot, exceptionally sensational story, tour de force acting prowess, attention-grabbing narrative, & provocative conflicts… it was perfect in every way! This show will definitely leave you at the edge of the seat! This series is definitely the best KDrama in medical genre to lớn date. Remarkable, mid blowing, và timeless! It set the bar too high!
